Project Manager – Nuclear Fabrication & Modular Construction

We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager – Nuclear Fabrication & Modular Construction to support a major UK nuclear programme.
This is a senior project delivery position responsible for complex manufacturing, fabrication and modular assembly projects, coordinating engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, logistics and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fabrication and modular construction projects from design freeze through manufacturing, assembly, testing and handover.
- Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules and budgets.
- Manage project performance, risks, change and project controls.
- Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply-chain and construction interfaces.
- Manage fabrication subcontractors and manufacturing partners.
- Oversee fabrication activities including:
- Structural steelwork
- Pressure boundary fabrication
- Pipework assemblies
- Mechanical equipment modules
- Electrical/instrumentation modules
- Skid-mounted systems
- Coordinate module assembly, Factory Acceptance Testing and system testing.
- Manage logistics and transportation planning for large modular components.
- Oversee nuclear quality requirements, manufacturing records and traceability.
- Manage quality surveillance, audits, inspections and non-conformance activities.
Experience Required
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Significant Project Management experience within manufacturing, nuclear, energy or major infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing large-scale steel fabrication projects.
- Experience delivering modular construction or off-site manufacturing programmes.
- Strong fabrication subcontractor and supply-chain management experience.
- Experience within highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of nuclear or high-integrity quality assurance requirements.
- Understanding of welding, fabrication, inspection and NDT processes.
- Experience of Factory Acceptance Testing and manufacturing readiness.
Knowledge of standards
Knowledge of standards such as ISO 19443, ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 3834, RCC-M or ASME would be highly advantageous.
Qualifications
A relevant Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction Management degree and Project Management qualification such as APM PMQ, PMP or PRINCE2 would also be beneficial.
