Site Engineer – Highways Civils

Location: Chorley, Lancashire

Contract: 8-10 weeks

Start: Monday 5th October

Shift pattern: Day shifts

Rate: £350-£375 per day, CIS/Umbrella via Datum

Client: Tier 1 Highways Contractor

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support a Tier 1 Highways Contractor on a civils package in Chorley.

The role will focus on delivery of a car park and ducting works package, supporting the site team with setting out, quality control and day-to-day engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set out works accurately for car park, drainage, ducting and associated civils activities.
• Establish and maintain site control, levels, line and setting-out data.
• Carry out quality checks, inspections, as-builts and survey records.
• Review drawings and raise technical queries or RFIs where required.
• Prepare and maintain ITPs, QA records, site diaries and engineering documentation.
• Support the Site Manager and Site Supervisor with planning, sequencing and coordination of labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven Site Engineer experience on highways, civils, drainage, external works or infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience setting out car parks, roads, drainage, services or ducting.
• Competent using Leica/Trimble robotic total stations, GPS and level equipment.
• Strong QA, ITP, surveying and as-built experience.
• Valid CSCS essential; relevant highways or civils qualifications are advantageous.
• Available to start Monday 5 October and commit for the full 8-10 week assignment.
