Financial Controller | Mansfield | Up to £75,000 + 10% bonus | Hybrid
I’m recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a growing business based in Mansfield.
This is a really good opportunity for someone who wants more than just a traditional Financial Controller role.
The business has ambitious growth plans over the coming years, both organically and through acquisition, which should create plenty of opportunity around integration, process improvement, systems development and helping build a stronger finance function as the business grows.
There is also genuine scope for the role itself to develop.
Initially, the focus will be around financial control, reporting and leadership of the finance team, but as the business continues to grow, the remit is expected to become broader and create further progression opportunities for the person joining.
A big part of the role will be people leadership.
You’ll have responsibility across the wider finance team, including oversight of the transactional AP and AR functions.
There are experienced people already leading these areas day to day, so this doesn’t about personally getting involved in every transaction. It’s about setting the standard across finance, developing the team, improving accountability and making sure the right processes and controls are in place as the business grows.
The wider role will include:
- Leadership and development of the finance team
- Month-end close and financial reporting
- Balance sheet ownership and controls
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the numbers
- Improving finance processes, systems and controls
- Business partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders
- Supporting future acquisitions and the integration of new businesses
- Identifying opportunities to create efficiencies across finance
- Helping develop the finance function as the business continues to grow
They’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced Financial Controller or senior finance professional with a strong financial control background
- A strong people manager who enjoys developing teams
- Technically strong across month end, reporting and balance sheet controls
- Comfortable working closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders
- Someone who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining what is already there
- Comfortable working in a growing environment where the finance function will continue to evolve
Package:
- Hybrid working – 3 days per week in Mansfield
You’ll need to be reasonably local to Mansfield given the hybrid working pattern.
