Job Description:

Associate Director-Vice President | Corporate Development M&A | Private Equity-Backed Business Services Platform | London:

Currently working on a Corporate Development hire for a large-scale, private equity-backed Business Services platform with a global footprint and ambitious growth plans. The business operates internationally, generating approximately £500m of annual revenue, and has recently entered a new ownership chapter following a significant private equity investment. With a clear mandate to materially increase scale and earnings over the coming years, M&A is expected to remain a key pillar of the company’s growth strategy.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Development, this individual will join a lean, high-impact team responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing acquisitions globally. This is a rare opportunity for someone seeking greater ownership and visibility than is typically available in investment banking or larger corporate development teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading acquisitions across the full transaction lifecycle, from target evaluation through to completion and integration.
  • Building and maintaining financial models, valuation analyses and investment cases.
  • Managing due diligence processes and coordinating advisers.
  • Preparing Board, Executive Committee and shareholder materials.
  • Supporting post-acquisition integration and strategic initiatives.
  • Developing relationships with founders, management teams, advisers and industry participants.
  • Working directly alongside senior leadership on strategic growth initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be capable of running transactions independently and operating with limited infrastructure around them.

Highly relevant backgrounds include:

  • Corporate Development professionals within private equity-backed businesses.
  • Investment Banking M&A professionals looking to transition in-house.
  • Individuals with exposure to large-cap private equity transactions.
  • Candidates with experience across Business Services, Financial Services, Outsourcing, Professional Services, Asset Servicing, Administration or related sectors.

Personal characteristics are equally important:

  • Self-starter mentality.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean environment.
  • Strong execution capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of transactions.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Significant M&A activity anticipated over the next several years.
  • Direct exposure to CEO, CFO and shareholders.
  • Ability to lead transactions rather than supporting them.
  • Opportunity to help shape the next phase of a highly acquisitive growth story.
  • Lean team structure with substantial responsibility from day one.
  • Exposure to both strategic decision-making and transaction execution.
  • Flexible working environment.
  • Employee equity participation scheme.
  • Strong long-term career progression potential.
