Senior Automation Engineer

Location: London – Hybrid, 2/3 days onsite

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Benefits

We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to support a high-profile programme within the Financial sector.

This role requires someone with strong hands-on automation engineering experience who can work across UI, API and framework-level testing within a modern Agile and CI/CD environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust automation test frameworks.
• Build and execute automated UI and API test suites.
• Work closely with Developers, DevOps Engineers, Product and Delivery teams within Agile environments.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support continuous improvement of testing standards, tooling and automation practices.
• Contribute to performance, security and non-functional testing where required.
• Work across cloud-based and containerised environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium.
• Extensive experience developing and maintaining Automation Frameworks.
• Strong API Automation experience using tools such as Postman and SOAPUI.
• Experience with Karate Framework.
• Strong understanding of Cucumber / BDD.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
• Strong experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Good understanding of modern software engineering and testing practices.

Highly Desirable

• Docker and Kubernetes exposure.
• Performance Testing experience.
• Security Testing experience.
• Experience working within Banking, Financial Services or other regulated environments.
