Kitchen Manager – Darmstadt Shelter

Overview

The Darmstadt Shelter in Kingston, NY, needs a Kitchen Manager to cook meals for residents.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Cooking and Food preparation, serving dinner, cleaning dishes and kitchen, and wrapping up leftovers
• Weekly and monthly cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Assist in creating menus
• Keeping kitchen and pantry stocked; shopping for shelter when needed

Qualifications

• Must have valid NYS Driver’s License
• Must be able to pass CPS clearance and NYS Justice Center Fingerprinting background clearance
• Must have experience in Food Preparation

Preferred Qualifications

• Good boundaries and communication skills
• Experience working with homeless populations, as well as those involved with mental health, and drug and alcohol

Hours and Pay Rate

This is a full-time, 40-hours per week position based at our Darmstadt Shelter for Single Adults in Kingston with a schedule of M-F, 12-8pm. The rate of pay for this position is: $18.95/hour and includes agency-funded health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays and other benefits.
