Machine Learning Engineer, Generative AI (Image & Video)

Overview

In this role you will develop ML-powered products and AI Lenses for millions of Snapchat users, focusing on image/video generation, editing, and LLMs. You will build AR experiences with diffusion-based models and ship consumer-facing GenAI solutions rapidly. You’ll collaborate across Product, Software, Lens Content, and Data Science to prototype, productionize, and test models, and stay ahead of GenAI research to guide build-vs-buy decisions. This position offers the chance to influence Snap’s GenAI capabilities and user experience at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML-powered products and AI Lenses for Snapchat at scale, focusing on image/video generation and editing
• Build AR experiences using diffusion/flow matching models
• Advance GenAI pipelines for image and video generation and ship consumer-facing solutions within weeks
• Collaborate with Product, Software, Lens Content, and Data Science teams to prototype, productionize, and iterate using A/B testing and user feedback
• Evaluate open-source GenAI models and third-party APIs/services to inform build-vs-buy decisions
• Monitor market and research landscape to stay at the cutting edge of GenAI
• Prototype new ideas and integrate ML models and APIs into production environments
• Evaluate and compare external GenAI models and services to maintain product competitiveness

Key requirements

• Strong background in Machine Learning
• Strong programming skills in Python or C++
• Bachelor in Computer Science
• Experience in neural rendering, generative models, segmentation, object detection, classification, tracking, or related DL/vision applications
