Quantity Surveyor (High End Residential) | Permanent | South West London

Overview

In this role you will support a South West London high end residential contractor to maximise gross margins on building contracts. You will work with the Commercial and Contracts Managers on procurement, sub-contracts, and contract accounting, while ensuring accurate cost tracking and timely client payments. You will influence cost control across new build developments and refurbishments, contributing to high-quality finishes and client satisfaction. This is a hands-on commercial role with exposure to multi-project delivery in a prestigious residential environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet the contract programme with the Critical Path Schedule to prepare and despatch tender packages to sub-contractors
• Maintain all necessary records
• Collate sub-contractor tenders, analyse and, with Contracts Manager, award sub-contracts
• Check and approve sub-contractors’ payment claims
• Liaise with sub-contractors to resolve queries
• Assess and cost variations to contract and update the Variations Account with monthly valuations
• Formulate contractual claims for submission
• Submit and agree final accounts
• Prepare monthly valuations and submit for payment
• Prepare and submit monthly cost/value reconciliations
• Manage procurement and buying gains reporting and update as the project progresses to final account

Key requirements

• Degree qualified or other relative qualifications (ideally)
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience with reputable main contractor or developer
• Experience on new build residential developments
• High end residential refurbishment experience advantageous
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
• Fully conversant with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word & Excel)
• Working knowledge of programming and/or project management software
• Current driving licence
• Able to commute to and work in South West London
