Overview
In this role you will lead the supply chain strategy for bids and projects within the Power T&D portfolio, ensuring alignment with win themes and commercial targets. You will build and manage supplier relationships, drive early market engagement, and oversee governance and risk to enable successful project delivery across Scotland. The role spans mobilisation, optimisation of design through Early Contractor Involvement, and continuous improvement of supply chain performance. This is a high-impact position shaping delivery readiness and value for a major infrastructure program.

Responsibilities
- Lead supply chain strategy development for bids and projects to align with win themes and delivery models
- Develop and drive a Strategic Supplier Relationship Management programme with improvement plans
- Lead Supplier Performance Management and track improvement actions
- Drive market engagement and intelligence to assess capacity, capability, risk and readiness
- Facilitate Early Contractor Involvement with key supply chain partners to optimise design and buildability
- Define packaging strategies and supply chain architecture to support market approach and project delivery
- Provide supply chain input into pricing and solution development with credible assumptions
- Champion governance, compliance and risk management across the supply chain
- Provide clear reporting on readiness, risks and opportunities for governance gates
- Drive continuous improvement and share market best practices across the organisation
- Support mobilisation readiness to ensure smooth bid to delivery transition
Key requirements
- Experience developing and delivering supply chain strategies in project, infrastructure, construction, energy or utilities environments
- Strong supplier relationship management experience with performance improvement
- Good understanding of procurement governance, sourcing strategy, risk management and compliance
- Ability to engage the market early and build relationships with suppliers and delivery partners
- Strong stakeholder management across commercial, operational, technical and bid teams
- Highly results-focused with a track record of delivering against targets
- Strong problem-solving skills with practical solution orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present to stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with digital procurement or performance management systems desirable
- Relevant business degree; MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification is desirable
- Knowledge of SSEN, SPEN, transmission, distribution or Scottish supply chain markets is essential
