Overview
In this role you will define and allocate the scope of EC&I work to ensure safe, on-time delivery with quality in nuclear projects. You will lead design and engineering to satisfy design reviews and HAZOP requirements, and supervise a small engineering team. You’ll collaborate with clients and other disciplines, manage subcontracts, and drive safety culture and regulatory compliance. This position offers impact across project delivery, safety assurance, and technical leadership within a renowned nuclear engineering group.

Responsibilities
- Define and coordinate design, specification, procurement, manufacture liaison, installation, testing, commissioning, and operator training in nuclear projects
- Check and approve project deliverables and liaise with other disciplines
- Provide technical consultancy and project management including quality, progress, and cost control
- Manage subcontractors and allocate work to a project team (up to ~5 engineers)
- Support sales and customer care activities
- Develop and oversee safety practices, ensuring compliance with CDM, CE marking, and other regulations
- Lead and develop staff; manage communications within the project team
- Ensure safe execution and timely delivery while maintaining quality standards
Key requirements
- Degree in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or demonstrable experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Nuclear industry
- Understanding of design requirements to support nuclear safety cases
- Experience of managing sub-contracts
- Knowledge of safety regulations including CDM
- Experience of checking design documentation including drawings and calculations
- Experience or ability to lead a technical team within a professional project delivery environment
