Overview
In this 12-month placement you gain exposure to design and construction teams on real projects under the Northumbrian Water framework. You’ll support senior QS in commercial and cost management, subcontractor payments, and records for audits, while learning NEC change control. You’ll help promote value through quality, cost discipline, and efficiency. A mentorship-based environment offers practical experience with meaningful community impact.

Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial and cost management, including subcontractor payments, notices, and cost-to-completes
- Keep and maintain records and final accounts for audits and cost assurance
- Develop contract management skills and apply NEC change control
- Support cost efficiency initiatives and value optimization across projects
Key requirements
- Undergraduate study in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Valid UK driving licence for site travel
