Overview

In this technical leadership role, you will guide the Environmental Water Quality Team to deliver sustainable solutions for water quality challenges across the UK and Ireland. You’ll work with cross-disciplinary experts to identify pollution sources and pathways, and shape multi-site programmes for water and environmental outcomes. You’ll lead complex projects, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to drive real environmental change. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence policy-relevant practice and strengthen water resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary programmes for the water sector and related industries
  • Identify pollution sources, pathways and receptors and develop sustainable solutions
  • Mentor junior team members and coordinate with project managers for successful outcomes
  • Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to align on goals and expectations
  • Contribute to projects such as WINEP studies, water quality modelling, storm overflow investigations and catchment risk assessments

Key requirements

  • At least ten years of experience across the water industry
  • Well-established relationships across the sector
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering challenging, complex projects
  • Familiarity with UK environmental quality legislation and cross-disciplinary context
  • Confident communicator with clients, regulators and colleagues
  • Leadership with clarity, adaptability and collaborative approach
  • Outcome-driven mindset and ability to challenge conventional thinking
