Overview
In this role you will design, deploy and optimize a global ultra-low latency network for Squarepoint’s colocation data centers. You’ll work closely with trading systems teams to deliver a high-performance trading platform and ensure operational control across 30 sites. You will lead initial deployments, automate and document procedures, and provide L3 support for performance and availability issues. This is a hands-on, global role that combines networking, systems engineering and automation to sustain low-latency trading capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy ULN infrastructure at colocation data centers
- Ensure operational control and reporting; optimize performance of trading infrastructure
- Develop and maintain procedures and documentation
- Serve as escalation point for global collocation changes and incidents
- Travel as needed to data centers
- Provide L3 escalation support for performance/availability issues
- Identify efficiency gains through automation and innovative solutions
Key requirements
- 8+ years of Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky) in large/complex environments (ops, systems engineering, performance)
- Deep server hardware knowledge (HP, SuperMicro, Dell; various overclock servers)
- Low latency network interfaces and kernel bypass (Solarflare Onload, Mellanox VMA)
- System hardware/OS tuning and performance troubleshooting; understanding CPU architectures
- Build/configuration management tools (Chef or Ansible)
- Observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus)
- Scripting in Python, Ruby, Bash; automation mindset
- Networking stack expertise (TCP/UDP, NTP/PTP, Wireshark)
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, proactive, organized, ownership mindset
- Understanding of trading venues (Nasdaq, LSE, Euronext)
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related experience
