Principal Technologist, Global Government Delivery Organization (GDDO)

Overview

In this role you drive strategic technical and business initiatives within the AWS Global Government Delivery Organization to enable government cloud adoption. You will partner with customers, partners and AWS teams to navigate complex programs, with a focus on security, compliance and scalable cloud delivery for UK Government programmes. You lead cross-functional engagement and craft compelling value propositions to accelerate adoption and ensure delivery of commitments. This role combines strategic planning, program management and hands-on technical leadership in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with AWS service teams to verify technical commitments to customers in named programs
• Interface with Capture, Sales, and Solutions Architecture to support partnership discussions and pursuit decisions
• Coordinate a matrixed team drawn from Federal business verticals to support specific programs
• Collaborate on long-term strategy to deliver in the Federal program space, including global infrastructure, feature deployment, and go-to-market
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for ADC customers, guiding multi-discipline executive engagements (security, roadmap, capacity, contractual requirements)
• Work with internal stakeholders (Region Services, ADC Security, Infrastructure, Sales) to ensure technical delivery across contracts

• Experience developing strategies that influence organizational leadership decisions
• Experience with Core Cloud Technology Services (Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, Networking)
• Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
• Experience with Data & AI technologies (AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, Storage)
• Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
• Experience in written and verbal communication with executives and non-technical leaders
• Experience with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration (Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, Cloud Operations)
• Experience with Advanced Compute technologies (Accelerated Compute, HPC, Visual/Spatial Compute, IoT)
• Experience in or with UK Government departments and contracts/frameworks (G-Cloud, CCS)
• Knowledge of UK Government procurement processes and Cloud Security Principles
