Contract Credit Specialist

Overview

In this contractor role, you will manage daily counterparty credit exposures and support business relationships within the framework of the Credit Policy. You will assess risk, make timely, policy-aligned decisions, and maintain ownership of credit scoring models. You’ll contribute to contract and collateral negotiations and monitor exposure across ETRM tools, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to sustain a disciplined credit program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily credit exposures within approved limits and tenors across segments
• Perform ongoing credit analysis using market intelligence and identify mitigation strategies
• Execute complex credit reviews and recommend approvals per Delegation of Authority
• Contribute to daily, monthly, and quarterly credit reporting and portfolio monitoring
• Own and maintain quantitative scoring models for portfolio benchmarking
• Support contract and collateral negotiations and monitor counterparty exposures
• Act as liaison to the business, advising on deal structures and building relationships
• Leverage commodity trading market knowledge, ETRM systems, and tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Databricks) for data analysis, reporting, and automation

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or related discipline
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• CFA designation considered an asset
• Equivalents considered where applicable
