An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated graduate to begin their career within a growing accountancy practice based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical and analytical skills who is keen to develop their career and progress towards becoming a Qualified Accountant.
About the Job
Working within a dynamic and supportive practice environment, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and tax services while working closely with clients and the wider team. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and take on additional responsibilities as your experience grows.
Key responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients regularly via telephone, email and face to face.
- Prepare accounts for a range of clients.
- Assist with Corporation Tax and individual tax returns.
- Complete bookkeeping activities.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns.
- Gain exposure to transactional work, including M&A and complex tax advice.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and provide support across other areas of the business.
- Develop your technical accounting and tax knowledge through practical experience and training.
- Work closely with senior team members to ensure client deadlines and requirements are met.
Previous Experience
- GCSE, A-Level or degree qualification, ideally in a numerate subject or discipline demonstrating strong analytical ability.
- Strong numerical skills and an excellent understanding of numbers.
- Good analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Confident and professional communication skills.
- A genuine ambition to develop a career as a Qualified Accountant.
- Relevant accountancy practice experience would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
