HR Officer
Department: People and DevelopmentReports to: HR Business Partner
We are seeking an HR Officer to provide customer-focused, comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice and support to managers and employees in line with organisational policies, procedures and legal requirements. The postholder will also provide administration support to the HR Team and support the delivery of the People and Development Strategy.
Main responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact in HR, providing advice and guidance.
- Provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters, absence management and work-life balance requests.
- Manage short-term absence processes and assist with attendance review meetings and Occupational Health referrals.
- Maintain HR information systems and assist in the preparation of management information and statutory reports.
- Prepare and manage documentation for employee relations cases.
- Assist in reviewing HR policies, procedures, systems and forms.
- Deliver training and information sessions on HR policies and processes.
- Support employee engagement activities and identify more efficient ways of working.
Essential criteria
Applicants must have:
- A third-level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent, and one year’s experience working in an HR Department;
- OR Two years’ experience working in an HR Department.
- Proven experience of providing advice and guidance on HR policies and processes in at least two of the following areas: recruitment, disciplinaries, grievance and sickness absence management.
- Demonstrable experience of using an HR information system to ensure accurate information for management reports.
- Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
- Demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise workload to ensure effective and timely outcomes.
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable, as the role will involve working at various locations throughout Ireland.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals for applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
Following the interviews a waiting list will be created for similar posts for a nine month period.
