Financial Mis-Selling Solicitor / Team Manager

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

100% Remote | Full-time | Permanent

A specialist legal services business is expanding its consumer finance litigation team and is seeking an experienced Financial Mis-Selling Solicitor / Team Manager to join the business on a fully remote basis.

This is a senior position combining hands-on legal work with responsibility for leading, supporting and developing a team of solicitors, fee earners and paralegals.

The role will focus predominantly on financial mis-selling, motor finance and PCP claims, including matters relating to undisclosed commission arrangements and consumer credit.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload while taking responsibility for the day-to-day performance and development of the wider legal team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of financial mis-selling and consumer credit claims from instruction through to resolution
  • Handling PCP and motor finance mis-selling claims
  • Dealing with claims involving undisclosed commission and other financial arrangements
  • Providing technical legal guidance and support to solicitors, fee earners and paralegals
  • Reviewing case strategy, pleadings, correspondence and evidence
  • Drafting and reviewing letters of claim, statements of case and litigation documentation
  • Managing claims involving lenders, finance providers, brokers and dealerships
  • Conducting settlement negotiations
  • Managing matters progressing through the Financial Ombudsman Service and litigation
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex or technically challenging cases
  • Monitoring case progression, quality, compliance and performance
  • Coaching and mentoring members of the team
  • Supporting performance management and workload allocation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, workflows and team performance
  • Working with senior management on departmental strategy and growth

About You

You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with strong litigation experience and a background in financial services, consumer credit or financial mis-selling.

Experience in the following areas would be particularly relevant:

  • PCP and motor finance claims
  • Motor finance mis-selling
  • Consumer credit litigation
  • Financial mis-selling
  • Undisclosed commission claims
  • FCA-regulated financial services disputes
  • Financial Ombudsman Service complaints
  • High-volume claimant litigation
  • Consumer disputes involving lenders, brokers or finance providers

Previous experience of managing or supervising a legal team is highly desirable.

The business would also consider a strong senior solicitor who has acted as a technical lead, supervised junior colleagues or taken responsibility for team performance and is now looking to move into a formal management position.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate
  • Strong litigation and case management experience
  • Demonstrable experience within financial mis-selling, consumer credit or a closely related area
  • Specific PCP or motor finance experience highly desirable
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedure
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to case management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload alongside leadership responsibilities
  • Experience coaching and developing junior legal professionals
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a 100% remote environment
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and risk requirements
