This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate education professional who is committed to developing the next generation of Health and Social Care professionals and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

As Course Leader for Health and Social Care, you will play a key role in leading, developing and continuously improving an engaging, inclusive and aspirational curriculum that meets the needs of learners, employers and the wider Health and Social Care sector. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery and quality improvement of Health and Social Care programmes, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment that promote learner achievement, progression, employability and professional development.

You will lead on curriculum planning and development, including the design and review of schemes of work, learning resources and assessment activities, ensuring programmes remain current, relevant and responsive to developments within the Health and Social Care sector, awarding organisation requirements and local and regional skills priorities. You will monitor and drive performance across designated courses, taking responsibility for attendance, retention, achievement, success rates, progression and positive learner destinations.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Health and Social Care provision and provide effective academic and pastoral support to learners through initial and diagnostic assessment, individual learning planning and regular progress reviews. You will contribute to the recruitment, enrolment and induction of learners, support careers education and progression activities, and promote opportunities for learners to progress into employment, higher education, apprenticeships and further professional study.

You will also play an important role in developing and maintaining effective relationships with employers, healthcare and social care organisations, placement providers and other external partners. You will support the development and management of work experience and placement opportunities, ensuring learners are appropriately prepared for professional environments and understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, professional conduct, equality, diversity and person-centred practice.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, learner-focused professional with experience of delivering high-quality Health and Social Care education and a strong understanding of the sector. You will have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, together with the ability to inspire learners and colleagues and drive continuous improvement. You will be committed to creating positive and meaningful learning experiences that develop learners’ knowledge, skills and professional behaviours and enable them to progress successfully into Health and Social Care careers, further study and employment.

We can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
