Overview
As a Site Manager for major civil infrastructure in the West Midlands, you will lead field operations, subcontractor performance, and safety compliance under a Tier 1 contractor. You’ll report to the Project Manager and ensure works align with the master programme while resolving technical queries with the engineering team. The role emphasizes HSEQ leadership, quality assurance, and NEC4-based commercial reporting to drive project success. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position in a high-stakes infrastructure environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily site briefings and coordinate direct labour and subcontractors to meet the master programme
- Oversee HSEQ activities, RAMS approvals, and daily site inspections to uphold safety standards
- Sign off ITPs and liaise with engineering to resolve technical queries
- Track resource outputs, manage shift logs, and support variation logging under NEC4 contracts
Key requirements
- SMSTS certificate
- CSCS Black Manager Card
- First Aid at Work
- HNC / BSc in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 4+ years’ experience managing site operations on major UK infrastructure (10m+ civils, highways, or utilities)
