Principal Electrical Engineer, Water

Overview

As Principal Electrical Engineer in our Water Team, you lead electrical design for wastewater and water projects, guiding multi-disciplinary delivery and supporting client engagement. You will drive design quality across feasibility to construction, mentor junior staff, and help advance our digital design tools. Responsibilities

• Lead and review electrical and ICA design elements for water/wastewater projects
• Conduct site surveys and coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers
• Develop load schedules, single line diagrams, MCC layouts, instrument schedules, and cable calculations
• Manage PLC/SCADA systems design, control philosophy, URS, specifications, and technical reports
• Input to P&ID, site surveys, and data gathering activities
• Engage in all design stages from feasibility to construction and ensure compliance with standards
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams and stakeholders
• Delegate tasks, mentor junior staff, and support bid preparation and client interfaces
• Oversee project delivery within budgets and timelines and verify deliverables

Key requirements

• Extensive design experience delivering large-scale water engineering projects
• BEng or MEng in Engineering with water/wastewater treatment experience
• Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Institution
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and line management experience
• Strong collaboration and coordination with teams, clients, and stakeholders
