Overview

In this role you will deliver safe, compliant electrical maintenance on a busy government site, ensuring critical operations run with minimal disruption. You will work within a collaborative facilities team to perform planned and reactive maintenance, complying with health and safety and statutory requirements. Your work supports continuous operation and safety across LV distribution, lighting, and power systems, while updating CAFM records and highlighting risks. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to develop a broad range of electrical maintenance skills in a secure setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations
  • Complete reactive maintenance tasks, fault finding, and repairs across LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, power systems, and controls
  • Ensure all electrical systems are maintained in a safe, compliant, and fully operational condition
  • Support statutory inspections and work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures, permits, and safe systems of work
  • Update CAFM systems with detailed job notes, completion evidence, and status updates whilst highlighting risks, non-compliance, and recurring issues

Key requirements

  • Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Experience delivering PPM and reactive maintenance within a commercial or public sector environment
  • Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship
