Overview

As Multiphysics Design Engineer, you will shape advanced mechanical systems for high-performance electric machines, spanning electromagnetic, thermal, and structural domains. You’ll influence products from concept to production in a hands-on environment with onsite manufacturing and test facilities. Your work will combine design optimization, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable, efficient motors. This role offers the chance to impact sustainable energy solutions at scale and contribute to cutting-edge cooling and material concepts. Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize radial-flux and axial-flux electric machines across EM, thermal, and structural domains
  • Perform detailed thermal and structural analyses to ensure reliability and cooling efficiency
  • Conduct EM, thermal, and structural FEA using standard tools
  • Support drawings, prototypes, testing, and validation across development phases
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and control teams to deliver detailed documentation
  • Research new materials, motor concepts, and advanced cooling and manufacturing improvements
  • Identify opportunities to enhance performance, cost, manufacturability, and efficiency
  • Contribute to project plans, technical delivery, timelines, and budgeting
  • Support Quality investigations and process improvements; assist with product-market insights

Key requirements

  • Strong understanding of electromagnetics, electric motor physics, and thermal behavior
  • Proficiency with FEA tools such as CFD, Ansys Maxwell, Ansys Mechanical, Siemens, JMag, and MotorCAD
  • Ability to interpret test data and correlate with simulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to create technical documentation and presentations
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering; Masters/PhD desirable or relevant experience
