Payroll Accountant

Overview

In this role you will oversee payroll across multiple countries, verify payouts, and ensure accurate financial recording. You will integrate payroll activities with monthly close and intercompany processes while coordinating with tax and audit professionals. You will work with cross-functional teams to support US GAAP and local reporting standards, driving accuracy and efficiency in payroll accounting. This position offers exposure to multi-jurisdictional payroll and end-to-end accounting, with a focus on controls and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Review multi-country payroll to verify base, bonus, and severance payouts
• Reconcile payroll files to the journal entries provided by the payroll vendor
• Reconcile payroll liability accounts with bank statements and vendors’ books
• Participate in month-end close and related processes (A/R, A/P, reconciliations, allocations, intercompany activity)
• Coordinate with third-party tax and audit professionals for annual tax returns and audits under US GAAP and local standards
• Handle ad-hoc requests from senior management and other departments

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on payroll accounting, payroll reconciliation, or payroll service provider experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to multitask with high attention to detail
• Highly organized, self-motivated and team-oriented
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
