Overview
In this Rail Systems Engineer role, you’ll support HS2 Track design during the initial phase, ensuring risk management processes are consistently applied. You will work within a Rail Systems Alliance, coordinating design interfaces and tracking progress to meet cost and schedule goals. You’ll produce auditable risk outputs, manage reviews, and report metrics to stakeholders. This is a chance to contribute to large-scale UK infrastructure and join a collaborative, globally operating team in a pivotal project. You’ll work across multi-unit teams to help deliver high-impact transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Manage technical risks and assumptions to control project risk and inform decisions
- Coordinate and administer Technical Risk and Assumptions Management processes, including meetings, attendance, notes, and reports
- Ensure designers complete and review risk registers before reviews (FBRS/JV)
- Produce monthly progress and metrics reports
- Support alignment of design activities with project interfaces and schedule constraints
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- Working towards Chartered IMEC, PWA Institute or CEng ICE desirable
- Experience in a railway environment preferred
