Senior Mechanical Engineer (Valves)

Overview

In this role you will provide expert valve engineering support for a major nuclear build project. You will act as the technical authority across the project lifecycle, ensuring design and supplier work meet strict nuclear standards. You will lead technical discussions, resolve complex issues, and coordinate with site teams, suppliers, and the client. This is a chance to impact safety, quality, and delivery on one of Europe’s largest energy projects. Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for industrial valves across the project lifecycle
• Review supplier documentation and assess design changes for compliance with nuclear standards
• Investigate and resolve technical challenges to protect milestones
• Act as primary technical focal point linking site, design teams, suppliers, and client
• Lead technical discussions and manage cross-functional interfaces to uphold safety and quality

Key requirements

• Background in industrial valve engineering within highly regulated sectors (e.g., nuclear, energy, defence, oil & gas, or power generation)
• Familiarity with valve design, qualification, supplier management, and nuclear standards or construction support
• Education in Mechanical, Nuclear, or related engineering discipline
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English; French is a strong advantage
