Overview

As Bid Writer in STRABAG UK’s Pre-Construction Team, you will craft high-quality, compliant tender content and customer-focused responses for major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with technical SMEs and bid managers to translate complex information into persuasive submissions. Your role centers on execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement of our work-winning content. This is an opportunity to influence landmark UK infrastructure programs and contribute to a sustainability-driven, progress-focused culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality PQQ and tender responses, case studies, and supporting evidence through analysis, planning, writing, and editing
  • Perform detailed question analysis and create response plans aligned with client requirements, scoring, and evaluation methods
  • Interview and extract information from technical, operational, and business experts to produce clear, customer-focused content
  • Collaborate with SMEs and contributors to ensure content is well-structured, understandable, and on-brand
  • Support win strategy development, win themes, storyboarding, and bid narratives
  • Participate in internal reviews and incorporate editorial feedback to improve content
  • Manage own writing workload and meet review milestones and final submission deadlines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing best practices and maintaining content in work-winning libraries
  • Participate in post-tender reviews and lessons learned

Key requirements

  • Proven experience writing and structuring compliant tender content within construction, engineering, or infrastructure
  • Ability to absorb, analyze and translate complex information into compelling customer-focused responses
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with technical and operational teams
  • Strong organisational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written English, grammar, and meticulous layout attention
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, MS Teams and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • APMP Foundation Certification or equivalent
