Client Data Manager

Overview

In this role, you will lead global client data initiatives within CHANEL’s Pioneer Programme, partnering across Business, IT, Legal, Security and external partners. You’ll shape data governance, quality, privacy and client data capabilities to enable a consistent client experience across regions. You will drive scalable, compliant data solutions in a complex matrix organisation and engage a broad stakeholder network. This is a chance to influence how client data supports business decisions and cross-functional collaboration at scale.

Responsibilities

• Act as main point of contact for Business stakeholders on client data management topics
• Define and improve client data management frameworks (matching/merging rules, fields, rules, quality controls)
• Drive data quality improvements across client data platforms regionally and divisionally
• Lead the client data model governance ensuring alignment with standards and requirements
• Support data governance principles, roles, responsibilities and core processes
• Act as Global Data Steward; promote governance standards and data ownership
• Facilitate global Data Steward community with training and knowledge sharing
• Design and harmonise global client data privacy processes and retention policy
• Partner with Legal, Security and regional teams to ensure privacy compliance
• Support scalable and automated privacy solutions across markets
• Enhance client analytics via KPI definitions, calculated fields and reporting
• Maintain data quality monitoring dashboards and coordinate remediation actions
• Coordinate cross-functional client data initiatives across business, technical and external stakeholders
• Lead requirements gathering, impact assessment, risk identification and pragmatic solutions
• Prepare governance materials, roadmaps and decision documents for leadership forums
• Monitor progress, risks, dependencies and actions across projects and regions
• Own and maintain client data documentation and governance practices
• Manage central knowledge repository (WikiPioneer/SharePoint) and ensure accuracy
• Support change management and training through user guides and materials
• Provide day-to-day guidance to the Client Data Coordinator and Global Data Steward Intern
• Foster collaboration and cross-functional relationships within the Pioneer community

Key requirements

• Significant experience in client data management, data governance, data quality or MDM
• Hands-on client data analytics, KPI development, reporting and data quality analysis
• Strong knowledge of CRM, customer data platforms and client journeys
• Experience managing complex cross-functional projects in an international environment
• Proven ability to work across Business, IT, Legal, Security and external partners
• Experience defining requirements, operating models, governance frameworks and process improvements
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and client data lifecycle management
• Experience with client data platforms, data stewardship and analytics solutions (highly desirable)
