Overview
As an Industry Architect in Deloitte’s Insurance practice, you design and deliver innovative tech solutions that transform insurance operations. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into architecture and secure, enterprise-aligned designs. Your role combines client leadership, mentoring for junior staff, and shaping delivery across strategy through implementation. You’ll stay ahead on cloud, AI and data trends to drive impactful, scalable outcomes for insurers.

Responsibilities
- Lead client meetings and workshops to elicit requirements and translate business needs into technical designs
- Direct and mentor junior architects/analysts within the architecture team
- Develop senior client relationships and act as a trusted technology advisor to align options with client goals
- Oversee technical design activities and collaborate with architecture and development teams to optimise insurance operations
- Document technical requirements, user stories and support product roadmap development
- Produce architectural artefacts (designs, reference architectures, integration designs) with guidance from a Senior Architect
- Govern design quality, conduct reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise security standards
- Define solution architecture artefacts across infrastructure, applications, data and integrations
- Evaluate technologies and platforms for scalability, security and cost-effectiveness
- Stay current with cloud, AI/ML, automation and data analytics to identify innovative delivery opportunities
- Contribute to thought leadership and practice development within insurance operations and transformation
- Support business development activities including pre-sales and client presentations
- Engage in ongoing learning and skill certification to stay current
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science or related field
- Experience in leading design and delivery of an insurance platform application within insurers, brokers, insurtech or consulting
- Strong understanding of General Insurance operations and tech landscape
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in designing solutions (integration diagrams, non-functional requirements, high/low-level designs) across Underwriting, Policy Administration, Claims and AI tooling
- Experience in cloud platforms, data management, APIs, microservices and security
- Experience with existing insurance tech ecosystems (Guidewire, Salesforce Industries, Sapiens, low/no-code solutions)
- Proven ability to secure buy-in and drive decisions with business and IT stakeholders
- Familiarity with SDLC and tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience managing vendor relationships and leading technology roadmaps
- Desirable: experience implementing AI-driven insurance solutions; professional cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/Google)
