Manager, Research and Development Tax, London 1

Overview

In this role you will lead R&D tax engagements as part of EY’s Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team in London. You’ll work with lead engineers and client finance/tax teams to deliver high-quality R&D tax claims and HMRC reports, while supporting business development. You’ll mentor junior engineers and nurture strong client relationships, contributing to EY’s growth in the London market. This position sits at the intersection of science and tax, helping UK companies invest in innovation. You join a diverse, cross-functional team focused on delivering impact for clients and the firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of R&D tax services to the client
• Review technical project reports to highlight key technical factors for claims
• Support the development of junior engineers in the team
• Build and maintain client relationships with high service levels
• Identify opportunities and manage client expectations to support business development
• Lead day-to-day client liaison and contribute to winning new work

Key requirements

• Experienced R&D tax practitioner
• Ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
