Overview

In this role you lead the design and execution of Datadog implementations, shaping technical roadmaps and guiding customers through deployment. You work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and scalable adoption of the platform. You’ll craft architectures, automate deployment templates, and manage implementation projects, driving time to value for clients. The role blends hands‑on technical delivery with customer‑facing leadership in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide Datadog implementations, including requirements gathering, architecture, deployment, and launch support
• Lead customer onboarding via co‑development sessions and assist when roadblocks occur
• Develop automation and deployment templates to support scalable deployments
• Manage day‑to‑day operation of implementation projects
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Sales to deliver a strong onboarding experience

Key requirements

• Experience designing and delivering technical DevOps monitoring or architecture solutions
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and compute tech (EC2, serverless, VMware, VMs, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Config Management, IaC and CI/CD tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines)
• Programming/scripting experience in Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET
• 5+ years as an Architect or Consultant in a professional services setting
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and sit for extended periods
