Overview
As Health & Safety Advisor on a major infrastructure project, you will provide proactive HSE support to site teams, helping to maintain safe, efficient operations. You will promote a positive safety culture, conduct inspections and investigations, and ensure compliance with CDM and current legislation. Based in Dartford, Kent, you’ll work closely with management and stakeholders to drive safety improvements and sustainability on a large-scale project. Responsibilities
- Provide proactive health and safety support to site management and operational teams
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching and engagement with the workforce
- Assist in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Review RAMS to ensure safe systems of work
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, CDM Regulations and current health & safety legislation
- Monitor subcontractor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate HSE records, inspections and KPI reporting
- Liaise with clients, consultants and project stakeholders on health and safety matters
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across the project
Key requirements
- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor position within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
