Overview

In this role you will partner with clients and internal teams to develop project budgets and new business proposals. You’ll contribute financial insight to RFPs, RFIs, and contract amendments while ensuring alignment with client needs and Medpace standards. You will monitor project performance against budgets and support contract modifications to sustain profitable partnerships. You’ll work closely with cross-functional colleagues to advance bids, invoices, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on, client-facing position that shapes pricing and budgeting in clinical development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fee estimates for RFPs, budget revisions, and contract amendments
  • Provide financial input for RFIs and coordinate with relevant Medpace personnel
  • Understand client business, pipeline, and opportunities to inform budget discussions
  • Ensure bids meet customer expectations and align with requirements
  • Utilize knowledge of Medpace bid process; review proposal assumptions for consistency
  • Communicate with customers on ongoing projects to manage expectations
  • Monitor project performance against budget and flag potential issues or changes
  • Review invoices and financial reports before Sponsors receive them
  • Build and maintain relationships within the customer organization to create new opportunities
  • Process new contracts and monitor changes in scope, milestones, invoicing, and modifications with team coordination
  • Maintain and update bid preparation templates and boilerplate text to fit client needs
  • May handle additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical research and/or contract management/pricing
  • Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting processes
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and drug development services desired
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel
