Overview

In this role you will act as the primary technical contact for clients, diagnosing and solving issues on industrial refrigeration and chiller systems. You will perform planned maintenance, document findings, and propose improvements, all while adhering to health and safety standards. The role is mobile, typically Mon–Fri with standby rotation, and involves producing detailed technical reports within a safety-focused, collaborative team. You will contribute to keeping critical cooling systems running for diverse industries.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues on industrial refrigeration and chiller systems
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections
  • Communicate findings clearly to clients and internal teams
  • Recommend upgrades or improvements to existing systems
  • Produce detailed technical reports after site visits
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards
  • Operate in a mobile role with standby rotation (1 in 5)
  • Collaborate with a supportive, cross-functional team

Key requirements

  • F-GAS 2079 certification and ammonia handling qualification
  • Completed refrigeration apprenticeship and recognised qualification (e.g. C&G) preferred
  • Experience with HFC, ammonia, CO2 systems and brands SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer, Howden
  • Strong knowledge of DX, pumped, flooded, and multistage systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical/fluid schemes, piping/psychrometric diagrams)
