Overview
In this role you will provide comprehensive HR support across the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced, commercial Food & Drink environment. You will partner with managers and employees to deliver practical, compliant guidance on people matters, from relations and performance to recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, and HR systems. You will help shape the employee experience, coordinate learning and development, and contribute to culture and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to drive HR impact through cross-functional collaboration and process optimization.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR partner delivering practical, commercially focused guidance across people matters
- Lead employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
- Support managers with people management and coaching to drive a positive employee experience
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain talent
- Coordinate onboarding to help new starters integrate quickly
- Collaborate with payroll and finance to ensure accurate payroll data and changes
- Maintain HR systems and records with GDPR compliance and policy adherence
- Support learning and development initiatives to build capability
- Contribute to employee engagement efforts and wider people projects
- Support organizational change activities, restructures, consultations, and continuous improvement in HR
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiency
- Build credible relationships across the business as a solutions-focused HR professional
Key requirements
- Generalist HR experience in a fast-paced/commercial environment
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting or managing employee relations cases
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail
- Proactive and able to manage tasks through to completion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build credibility at all levels
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
- CIPD Level 5 qualification, or working towards, is desirable
