Overview
In this Legal Counsel role you will provide pragmatic, timely legal advice to the business and support cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced digital healthcare environment. You’ll handle a broad range of commercial, regulatory and data governance matters, including healthcare licensing and information governance. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to enable objective, compliant decision‑making and contribute to the company’s transformation and AI‑driven roadmap. This is a hands‑on, impact‑oriented position with growth through exposure to mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring. You’ll join a collaborative team at the heart of a growing healthcare technology business.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, timely and pragmatic legal advice across the business
- Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements (SaaS, software licensing, subcontracting, reseller)
- Support data governance, regulatory compliance and dispute matters
- Advise on healthcare sector issues such as licensing, mobile health, information governance
- Collaborate with product and commercial teams to support objectives
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring
- Contribute to risk management and compliance initiatives
- Deliver legal training and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer in the UK with 1-5 years’ relevant experience
- Strong grounding in commercial contract law
- Experience or interest in information governance and data-related matters
- Commercially minded with pragmatic problem-solving
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- Confidence handling a variety of legal matters, including unfamiliar areas
