Overview
In this role you will design, commission and test high-speed digital electronics for airborne radar PCA assemblies. You will work within a cross-functional team to deliver robust digital hardware for complex systems and ensure design accuracy through documentation, verification, and configuration control. You’ll collaborate with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines to integrate hardware, firmware and software on FPGA-driven PCA platforms. The position offers a meaningful chance to contribute to advanced aerospace systems and apply cutting-edge digital design techniques.

Key requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or other STEM-based subject
- Experience designing high-speed digital electronics using FPGA and/or microprocessor devices with high-speed interconnects
- Experience in schematic capture using Mentor Graphics (Siemens EDA) DxDesigner or similar tools
- Experience with high-speed serial interfaces/protocols (PCIe, Ethernet/IEEE802.3, SPI, I2C) and high-speed bus architectures (DDR3/4)
- Application of high-speed digital design techniques (signal termination, controlled impedance, matched length tracking, ground/power planes, decoupling)
- Functional simulation and timing analysis at circuit level
- PCB layout experience and ability to guide layout engineers on high-speed designs
- Hands-on integration of hardware, firmware & software on FPGA and microprocessor-based PCAs
- Ability to coordinate day-to-day technical activities with lead engineers and other disciplines
- Experience liaising with Manufacturing/Production and external suppliers
