Overview
In this role you lead transport planning input for development projects within a multidisciplinary team, shaping transport strategies and contributing to planning representations. You will mentor junior colleagues, drive project delivery, and support business development across private and public sector clients. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated development proposals and complex multi-disciplinary packages. Responsibilities
- Lead technical transport planning on development projects (TA, Travel Plans, access strategies, parking strategies, sustainable/active travel)
- Prepare and review traffic data for Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements
- Set up and run junction capacity modelling (Junctions 10, Linsig) and conduct scenario testing
- Manage small-to-medium scale projects including budget and resource planning, invoicing
- Contribute to project delivery and leadership on complex multi-disciplinary schemes
- Mentor Early Career Professionals and share technical knowledge
- Engage with clients and project stakeholders; support business development and client discussions
- Lead conceptual junction design and supervise design work when needed
Key requirements
- Significant post-graduate transport planning/engineering experience
- Experience leading technical work onTA, Travel Plans, access strategies, parking strategies, and related guidance (NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets)
- Proficiency in traffic flow data and junction modelling (Junctions 10, Linsig)
- Project management experience on small-to-medium projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead client and stakeholder discussions
- Ability to mentor others and develop junior professionals
- Proficiency with Excel and Word
- Growing professional network of co-professionals and clients
- Chartered status in a transport-related discipline (desirable)
