In this role, you will contribute to Development Planning projects across commercial, retail, and residential sectors, shaping transport strategies and supporting development proposals through planning processes. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver transport planning input, guidance, and evidence gathering for both private and public sector clients. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day transport planning input on Development Planning projects
- Assist with Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategies, and parking strategies
- Support preparation of traffic flow information for TA/Environmental Statements
- Set up and run junction capacity modelling (e.g., Junctions 10, Linsig) and test scenario inputs/outputs
- Contribute to conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals)
- Communicate with clients, project teams, co-professionals, and stakeholders
- Share knowledge on technical areas and support wider team development
- Utilise day-to-day software packages (Excel, Word)
Key requirements
- Experience with Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
- Experience with junction capacity modelling software (Junctions 10, Linsig)
- Conceptual junction design knowledge (priority, roundabout, signals)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Familiarity with guidance such as NPPF, DfT TA guidelines, Manual for Streets
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
