Solution Architect

Overview

In this role you will act as a technical authority to shape digital transformations for clients in regulated sectors. You will design secure, scalable architectures, govern delivery and guide multi-disciplinary teams through discovery, design, and deployment. You’ll influence senior stakeholders, drive architectural direction, and contribute to reusable assets and thought leadership. The opportunity combines hands-on architecture work with client advisory to enable secure, future-ready solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with stakeholders to align objectives and technology plans with business goals
• Lead the definition of solution architectures and provide actionable recommendations for technology-enabled change
• Act as the technical authority throughout the project lifecycle from design to service transition
• Establish and govern technical delivery frameworks with architecture governance and design assurance
• Lead architecture and design reviews, identify risks and dependencies, and mitigate issues
• Promote architectural best practices and contribute to standardisation and improved delivery methods
• Support business development through client engagement, solution shaping, and proposal development
• Act as a subject matter expert advising senior clients and internal stakeholders on secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions
• Coach and mentor colleagues and contribute to capability development and communities of practice
• Identify and shape opportunities for innovation including cloud modernization, automation, and AI-enabled services
• Contribute to thought leadership, reusable assets, and external market positioning in architecture

Key requirements

• Proven experience designing and delivering solution architectures that support transformation programmes
• Strong solution and enterprise architecture expertise, including secure, resilient, and scalable digital solutions
• Experience leading design activities, architecture workstreams and multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience establishing architecture governance, design assurance and technical review processes
• Strong business analysis, requirements management and solution definition capabilities
• Knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman or equivalent architecture frameworks
• Experience in complex, regulated environments
• Proven track record as a trusted advisor influencing senior stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or developing colleagues and sharing expertise
• Experience contributing to thought leadership, communities, and reusable assets
• Experience in pre-sales, bid support and solution shaping
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps and product-led delivery environments
• Experience with cloud, interoperability, and security governance
