Overview
As a Functional Safety Engineer on Arm’s GPU Safety team, you help deliver safety-critical solutions for next-gen GPUs across automotive and robotics. You will work with architecture, hardware, verification and software teams to develop safety concepts and work products through the product lifecycle. You’ll apply ISO 26262 safety strategies, perform analyses, and continuously improve safety methodologies. This role offers impact by shaping safety outcomes on high-performance AI-enabled GPUs in safety-critical domains.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review functional safety work products per ISO 26262
- Create and maintain Safety Plans, Safety Cases, Safety Manuals and related documentation
- Perform safety analyses (FMEA, DFA, FTA, FMEDA)
- Support hardware and software teams in deriving and implementing safety requirements
- Write, review and manage safety requirements across the development lifecycle
- Participate in Functional Safety audits, assessments and reviews
- Support tool qualification activities as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Arm’s Functional Safety methodologies
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to achieve safety objectives
Key requirements
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and modern SoC design principles
- Knowledge of functional safety concepts and ISO 26262
- Experience in RTL design of complex ASICs/IPs/SoCs
- Experience with DFMEA, DFA, FTA, or FMEDA
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
