In this role you will design, build, and maintain a high-performance Linux-based trading and research infrastructure for a top-tier hedge fund. You will collaborate with development and research teams to solve data-intensive problems on large databases, delivering production-ready environments and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation and stability of research, development, and trading infrastructure
- Deliver production-ready handovers for projects and deployments
- Design, build and implement new environments
- Troubleshoot and tune Linux systems to meet business needs
- Work with virtualization (KVM, VirtualBox) and Red Hat Linux
- Leverage build/deploy tools (Maven, CMake, Rake) for deployment pipelines
- Support network operating systems and monitoring (Nagios)
- Collaborate closely with development and research teams on data problems
- Contribute to operational excellence and scalable solutions
- Address complex data problems across large databases (2 TB)
Key requirements
- At least 4 years of professional Linux/Unix system administration experience
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and tuning skills
- Kernel tuning experience preferred
- Programming in C, Python, or Perl
- Experience with virtualization (KVM, VirtualBox)
- Experience with Red Hat Linux administration
- Familiarity with network operating systems
- Experience with build/deploy technologies (Maven, CMake, Rake)
- Proven ability to deliver production-ready solutions for complex problems
- Interest in working in a fast-paced, data-driven trading environment
