Overview
In this role you will join a leading national law firm’s Bristol construction team to support high-value, complex projects across health, housing, education, regeneration and infrastructure. You will focus on non-contentious construction work, developing specialist expertise while collaborating with senior lawyers and partners. The position offers hybrid/flexible work and clear progression within a growing practice. You will help deliver national programmes and advise on contract form and related documentation, shaping outcomes for a wide range of clients.

Responsibilities
- Advise on construction and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC and bespoke forms)
- Support major development, regeneration and capital projects
- Draft and negotiate appointments, warranties, bonds and related documentation
- Advise government departments, NHS Trusts, local authorities, housing associations and private developers
- Work on large-scale national programmes including hospitals, housing schemes, education projects and infrastructure delivery
- Support senior lawyers on complex matters while developing own caseload
Key requirements
- 1–3 years’ PQE in construction (non-contentious or mixed)
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a busy, high-performing team
- Interest in developing specialist expertise in non-contentious construction
- Experience coordinating advice with colleagues across other disciplines (desirable)
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients
