Overview
In this role you support the Project Controls team on high-profile infrastructure projects across Power, Water, Rail, Defence, Nuclear, Local Authority and Shipyards. You contribute to planning, scheduling, performance reporting and risk management for major programmes, adapting to a regional expansion and diverse client base. You will work closely with cost and planning engineers to establish baselines, monitor progress, and provide analysis and recommendations. Responsibilities
- Develop work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines with cost and planning engineers
- Establish progress and cost monitoring methods
- Produce project control reports and performance analysis with recommendations
- Act as day-to-day client contact on project controls matters
- Contribute to schedule construction and baseline management
- Support assurance reviews and schedule quality checks using standard tools
- Monitor progress, collect data, and escalate issues as needed
- Drive a positive can-do culture within scheduling and controls
Key requirements
- Experience in a project controls environment within infrastructure (Energy, Defence, Rail, Airports, Highways, Water/Utilities)
- Experience in at least one: Programme Controls Management, Earned Value, Change & Risk Management, Planning, Project Controls or PMO
- Graduate in a relevant discipline with some project control experience
- Experience with Primavera (P6), Power BI and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team; strong time management and deadline adherence
- Strong verbal and written communication and knowledge of planning principles
- Technical competence in schedule construction and schedule monitoring
- Awareness of quality control checks (e.g., Primavera Schedlog, Acumen Fuse, DCMA 14-Point Checklist)
- Ability to conduct progress data collection, performance measurement, and variance reporting
