Overview
In this early-career role you support small to medium transport projects, build technical skills, and contribute to reports and modelling. You will work with cross-functional teams and gain client-facing experience while delivering practical transport solutions. The role sits within a delivery-focused team that supports project growth and knowledge sharing. You’ll help shape project outcomes and gain exposure to planning policy and design guidance.
Responsibilities
- Lead smaller projects with support from senior staff
- Produce Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Technical Notes and Access Appraisals
- Support Transport Assessments and modelling work
- Undertake site visits and provide initial design input
- Prepare drawings (visibility splays, tracking, access design)
- Attend client, design team and LHA meetings
- Support public consultations and stakeholder engagement
- Contribute to fee proposals for smaller schemes
Key requirements
- Degree in a relevant discipline
- ~2+ years’ transport planning experience
- Working towards professional membership (e.g. CIHT, TPS)
- Knowledge of UK design guidance and planning policy
- Experience with AutoCAD, TRICS and modelling tools
