Overview

In this Strategic Sourcing Manager role you shape global supplier strategy for a growing manufacturer and take ownership of supplier development and resilience. You’ll drive cost and risk improvements while partnering with senior stakeholders to support growth and major investment plans. The role includes developing sourcing roadmaps, onboarding and auditing suppliers, and contributing to NPI activities, with travel to UK and international sites. This is a pivotal position offering impact across business units in a growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, supplier agreements and risk mitigation plans
• Supplier onboarding, audits, capability assessments and ongoing supplier development
• Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and lead supplier performance improvement
• Support customer projects and NPI activity including APQP / PFMEA involvement
• UK and international travel for supplier visits (UK, Europe, Far East / North America)

Key requirements

• Proven experience in global sourcing / supplier management within manufacturing
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a cost-down track record
• Ideally CIPS (Level 5+) or degree-qualified
• Ability to read engineering drawings
