Manufacturing Director

Overview

In this role you will lead UK manufacturing across three sites for a global manufacturing business, shaping production strategy, processes, and safety. You’ll drive investment, efficiencies, and cost control while developing plants and teams to support growth. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to realise the company’s manufacturing ambitions and safety culture. This is a senior, impact‑driven role with UK and potential international travel at pace.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate three Production Managers across three sites
• Plan and manage budgets and compliance with planning specifications
• Develop personnel, qualifications, and competencies
• Prepare and execute investment plans
• Optimize use of resources (people, machines, material, method)
• Develop production plants and processes
• Ensure compliance with product properties within area of responsibility
• Review technical contracts and drive improvement suggestions
• Control and document production processes and manage project work
• Oversee Estimating and Product Planning across sites
• Uphold health & safety standards and housekeeping
• Verify effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions
• Implement company policies and guidelines with site teams

Key requirements

• Technical degree or equivalent
• Professional and leadership experience (minimum 5 years)
• Strong communication across all levels
• Good decision-making and assertiveness
• Project management experience
• Multi-site experience with willingness to travel in the UK and abroad
