Overview

In this Knowledge Lawyer role, you shape the knowledge strategy for a leading financial services disputes practice from Bristol. You will develop precedents, deliver training, and manage a central knowledge base to support fee earners and clients. You’ll monitor developments, drive legal-tech initiatives, and collaborate across risk and business teams to mitigate risk and enable efficient, high-quality advisory. This role offers hybrid/ flexible working and a chance to impact the firm’s knowledge culture and external publications. You will engage with cross-functional teams to elevate legal excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain legal precedents and annotated resources
  • Design and deliver internal training for fee earners and trainees
  • Provide client-facing training across the UK (virtual and in-person)
  • Monitor legal developments and update practice materials
  • Respond to complex legal queries from fee earners
  • Manage and promote the firm’s internal knowledge database
  • Collaborate with Risk to identify and mitigate legal risks
  • Drive efficiencies through legal tech, processes, and innovation
  • Write legal insights and articles for internal/external publication
  • Support tenders and business development initiatives
  • Mentor trainees on research and knowledge application

Key requirements

  • 5+ years PQE, ideally in financial services disputes or investigations
  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Proactive, client-focused mindset with ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in knowledge management or desire to transition from fee earning
  • Familiarity with legal tech and project delivery tools
