Overview

In this role you will lead complex HSES initiatives within a major energy player, solving advanced HSES challenges with minimal guidance. You will guide the HSE Management System to align with corporate, legislative, and client requirements, while shaping risk-based controls across projects. The role emphasizes independent leadership, incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvements in safety, environment, and security. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to drive safe, compliant operations and support the energy transition. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to influence safety culture at scale in offshore and onshore energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE-MS in line with corporate, legislative, and client requirements
  • Lead HSES risk management and ensure mitigations are suitable
  • Create and update HSES plans, procedures, and instructions for contracts
  • Manage and advise on all HSES matters across projects
  • Provide technical and commercial support during tendering
  • Establish and monitor KPIs; identify trends and compliance gaps
  • Plan and execute internal and external HSES audits and assurance programs
  • Oversee subcontractor HSES pre-qualification and bid evaluation
  • Prepare HSES budget and ensure compliance
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate project HSES activities and engagements with management
  • Lead professional development and competency assurance for HSES personnel
  • Develop emergency procedures and training materials
  • Maintain high standards of safe working practices and code of conduct
  • Engage in client interface regarding HSES performance
  • Communicate HSES performance to management
  • Travel as necessary to support projects

Key requirements

  • Degree in HSES related field
  • 7-8 years HSE experience in energy industry
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Familiar with HSES terms, requirements, and deliverables
  • ISO standards lead auditor (9001, 14001, or 45001) trained/experienced
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
