Overview
As an Experienced Financial crime/AML Lawyer, you will help maintain best-in-class compliance with financial crime regulations across the firm. You will partner with the Head of Financial Crime and AML and advise business areas on risk, policies, and regulatory changes. You will lead investigations, SAR reporting, and horizon scanning to keep policies up-to-date. This role sits in Risk & Compliance, with a focus on sanctions, AML, and fraud controls, and offers flexible hybrid working from London or regional UK offices.

Responsibilities
- Advise on Financial Crime and AML compliance to internal stakeholders
- Ensure firm’s adherence to relevant laws and regulations
- Assist Head of Financial Crime and AML in maintaining compliant policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain FC/AML policies, procedures, and controls
- Act as subject matter expert on AML, sanctions, SAR reporting, ABC, CTF and fraud
- Investigate and support SAR reporting to authorities
- Horizon scan and update policies with regulatory changes
- Support internal and external audit responses on financial crime compliance
- Support FC/AML-related projects
- Provide training on Financial Crime and AML risks and regulations
Key requirements
- Background in providing Financial Crime/AML advice across regulated entities
- Experience as SME on suspicious activity reporting, proceeds of crime, anti-bribery, fraud, and tax evasion queries
- Experience creating and delivering training on FC/AML risks
- Experience drafting and implementing FC/AML policies and controls
- Ability to act as escalation point for client and matter risks, including ESG and reputational exposure
